Snack Salad
INGREDIENTS:
- 1 apple
- 1 carrot
- 1 banana
- 1 package of each size raisins
- Quarter cup of orange juice
Cut the apple and banana slices in a medium bowl. Grate the carrot into the bowl. Add orange juice and raisins and mix well. Serve chilled.
Good Carbohydrates
After the low-carb fever, most people probably do not realize that there are good carbs you can snack without worrying about gaining ten pounds. These carbohydrates are good for you because they are high in fiber and are more filling. Also, are digested more slowly, which makes you feel fuller longer.
Here are some examples of good carb snacks:
- Brown bread
- Bagel high fiber
- The flour tortilla chips
- Biscuits
Do not rely on words like "comprehensive" or "multi-grain" when choosing a snack, though. Many of these labels are misleading. It may sound like they are high in fiber, but in reality only one gram of fiber. The trick is to look at the nutrition label and carbohydrate find a list of at least three to five grams of fiber per serving.
