Can a Vegan Diet help with depression?
I suffered with depression most my life and no combination pill has really relieved my depression. I've always wanted to be vegan for ethical reasons and health and have decided to take the leap. Has anyone noticed a mood or increase more balanced hormones (PMS less) of a vegan diet? Danielle, is not Insurance neroscience where you studied, but the food has been shown to effect brain chemistry. Since it is something I wanted to do for ethical reasons, no doubt make a difference. I was not vegan for ethical reasons but even morally, I felt much better after you made the change. As you know that food affects mood, probably have no say that his vegetarian diet should consist of real food, not meat substitutes, which are highly processed junk. Beneficial enzymes that are killed during cooking can also helps, so be sure to take in raw vegetables / nuts / fruits whenever possible. Trust me, there is a huge difference!
