Kim Olesen, B.Sc., CPP, Manager of Distribution of innovative technologies in chemistry Canada Ltd. (ICTC), is the project manager for the selection of an ERP Manufacturing Process (enterprise resource planning) system and worked on three other implementations in previous positions of a large enterprise environment to a small company. Olesen selected O2, by Escape Velocity Systems (Www.evs-sw.com) for a variety of reasons, including:

• How the system handles QA / QC
• The system's ability to produce the required MSDS and TDG (transport of dangerous goods), reporting and labeling
• The ability to integrate the mixing and production (manufacture process)
• The system's ability to simplify the process of commercialization of the company, ensuring that the product is put into the right package with the MSDS TDG and the law will also address the labeling and safety requirements
• Sage MAS 500 accounting / financial backbone paths is very strong, with excellent drill-down capabilities and audit information

What prompted the need for this new ERP system was the rapid growth experienced in recent CTIC years. According to Olesen, "We needed a system that would handle financial growth and manufacturing process needs, with O2 by Escape Velocity Systems, ICTC was able to get the scope and the extent necessary system plus the ability to scale system, ICTC continues to grow. "

Morphix Business Consulting (www.morphix.biz target = "_blank">), a strategic consulting firm working alliance with Escape Velocity Systems, was instrumental in helping ICTC select O2. Morphix came into ICTC very "discreet" no pressure to buy, spoke about the needs, problems and pains software business without pushing. The initial consultation was followed by a demonstration to the main contact CTIC was very excited with the initial presentation and Morphix followed a second demonstration with a few other key players, including laboratory and sales and direct information vice-president.

CTIC next step was to bring the project managers (including President / CFO), after this demonstration Morphix was asked to prepare a budget immediately, the project was approved without being budgeted (extra-ordinary purchase). Customer feedback software solution were shared and Morphix had patience with ICTC during purchase of the process (15-month buying cycle), and helped demonstrate the ROI (return on investment) for the purchase of ERP.
