I lost weight with this!

by Wondurgurl from Toronto, ON on 2010-04-28
If you're looking to increase your daily fiber intake, you should try this cereal. I've been losing weight gradually with this, and my stomach doesn't look as bloated as before. I've been eating this cereal mixed with my favorite cereal to make it tastier and it's been reducing my constipation. My Canadian version has Sucralose (Splenda) in it so less cavities (bacteria can't break this sugar down).

Good stuff. Chock full of fiber and vitamins.

by Goodknight from SoDak the Florida of the Dakotas on 2010-04-09
I buy it all the time. This was a one time purchase based on price.

to expensive

by Rod Braido from Murrieta Ca on 2010-03-12
I eat this cereal almost every day but what is up with the $4.98 a box I buy it at Winco foods it is 3.48 a box and you can get a $.75 off coupon at coupon mom so my net cost is $2.73 45% less and I don't have to buy 6 boxes at a time. so much for getting deals on line

Love the cereal

by AC from on 2010-03-01
So much fiber! Love it! I had Kashi Go Lean for a while, plus a few other multi-grain cereal (even oatmeal at one point).. but none of them keep me full until lunch time. This is about the only one that does it. As a heads up, they sell normally at Target for $3.99. That comes out to be cheaper than here I think.

I LOST 60 LBS WITH FIBER ONE SMOOTHIES!

by E. Ippolito from Colorado USA on 2010-02-25
I've battled with my weight since high school. I'm 50-something now and finally found a way to lose weight without feeling deprived, thanks to my Tribest Blender and Fiber One Bran Cereal, 16.2-Ounce Boxes (Pack of 6)!I had reached an all-time high with my weight - 220lbs plus. I can't say for sure how much I weighed when I decided to start to losing weight (yet again), because I had stopped weighing myself once I hit 220. I didn't wanna know. However, my actual weight had to be 230 or more because I was wearing my 220lb jeans, but I could no longer zip them at all. So it was either lose weight, or buy a whole new wardrobe.I started trying to find a diet that I could stick to, but I had to face it - I had tried them all, and always failed because of my ginormous sweet tooth. After about a week or two of depriving myself of sweets, I'd wind up breaking my diet. I knew the only way I was ever going to lose weight was to find a way to do it with, somehow, including sweets.I won't bore you with the details, but I finally wound up creating a smoothie recipe that was so delicious that I didn't feel sweet-deprived. I substituted the smoothie for two meals a day and ate sensibly for the third meal. I LOST 50 LBS IN 6 MONTHS! Whoo-hoo!!! I haven't been this "skinny" for over 20 years!I'm still losing too (-60 lbs at the time of this writing). It's been slower going lately, but that's because it's winter and I'm not walking my dog in the park for an hour 4 or 5 times a week. Once the weather warms up, I plan on going back to my walking and I'm sure the weight loss will speed up again.I prepare my smoothies with my Tribest Personal Blender PB200 Super Convenience Pack. You drink using the container you used to blend, so there isn't an extra blender container to wash. Rinse the blade assembly with warm water immediately after blending to save more washing. I grind the Fiber One cereal in the small, 8 oz container first. Then, in the larger, 16 oz container or the extra-large 24 oz container (available separately), blend all the ingredients except Fiber One Cereal together, or just cover and shake, to make room for the cereal. Add the Fiber One last and blend thoroughly. The commuter lids are great for taking your breakfast with you in your car. You can make and store smoothies in the 'fridge overnight, with the included regular covers, for a super-fast breakfast. You can also get replacement parts and extra accessories (unlike similar as-seen-on-TV products). You can also get an optional carrying case for the blender to take it to work or on vacation.I like the mason jars for mixing and freezing both dry and wet ingredients with the Tribest, like ground flax seed and home-made veggie blends. You can get extra mason jars just about anywhere and also use them for freezing leftover or batch-made spaghetti sauce, soup, etc. Also dry ingredients like flour, rice, brown sugar (no more hard lumps!), bulk spices, etc. The dry products can store either in the freezer or on the shelf. As far as some of the complaints saying that their Tribest blender died after only a short time - it has a built-in, shut-off mechanism to prevent the motor from over-heating, which can happen if the mixture you are blending is very thick, which over-works the motor. If you just let the blender cool off for a few minutes, it will work again. Thin the mixture with a little more milk or a few ice cubes. There are several Tribest combo pack options for purchasing the blender which can save you money. Just type Tribest into the Amazon search to see them, and to see all the available accessories.Anyway, enough about me - if you've stuck with reading this to this point, you're probably hoping I'll reveal my secret recipe. So, without further ado, here it is.Basic Fruit Smoothie Recipe (makes approx. 14 oz)1/2 cup Fiber One Original Cereal, pre-ground if possible 6 oz skim milk 1 cup fresh or frozen fruit (nuke frozen for 15 sec. to make blending easier) 2 Tbs Sugar-Free French Vanilla coffee creamer (optional), I use powdered No-cal sweetener, to taste (add last, after blending and tasting) 1-4 ice cubes, if necessary, to reach desired coldness or to thin a too-thick smoothieFrozen fruit works best because the smoothie will be very cold. Bananas can be frozen if you peel ripe bananas, slice into one-inch pieces, arrange on cookie sheet so that the pieces don't touch, place cookie sheet in freezer until bananas are frozen, put frozen banana pieces into zipper plastic bag, and return to freezer. You want to freeze the pieces on the cookie sheet first because if you just dump all the banana pieces straight into the plastic bag, you'll wind up with one giant frozen banana lump. You can use this method for other fresh fruit too.Suggested flavors: Banana, strawberry, blueberry (my fave!), raspberry, blackberry, pineapple, orange, lime, lemon.Suggested combos: Banana/strawberry, blueberry/strawberry, pineapple/banana, pineapple/orange.Use fruit juices in place of fruit too. Use 6 oz. of juice or, if using frozen concentrate, 2 oz. of concentrate and 2 oz. of milk or the equivalent in ice cubes. When buying juices, choose only those marked as 100% juice if you want to avoid sugar.I often use a few banana slices to sweeten, instead of no-cal sweetener. The banana will also add a little more thickness for the thinner consistency smoothies, such as those made with juice.Other variations: Chocolate (1 Tbs cocoa added to banana smoothie), mocha (1 Tbs cocoa, 1 Tbs freeze-dried coffee, 2 more oz. milk, banana or no fruit), pineapple-upside-down smoothie (sweeten with Splenda Brown Sugar blend - it's half Splenda, half brown sugar), pumpkin pie smoothie (cook and refrigerate pumpkin first and sprinkle in some pumpkin pie spice), sweet potato smoothie (same prep and spices as pumpkin pie smoothie), banana nut (blend in a few Tbs chopped walnuts). For those who want a bigger meal, add another cup of fruit and 2 more oz milk. Use the larger 24 oz container. You could also get all your fiber for the day in one meal by using a full cup of Fiber One Original cereal and a few more oz of milk, juice, or ice cubes. The main point of using Fiber One in the smoothie is that it makes the smoothie meal very FILLING and will keep you feeling full longer. You can't get much more filling in a 14 oz meal than 14 grams of fiber! None of the commercial diet liquid meals can't touch that - and you pay a lot more for them. With two smoothies a day, you're getting over 100% of your daily fiber, 4 fruit servings, 2 cereal servings, and 1 1/2 dairy servings. Fill out your food pyramid with your third meal. Doesn't hurt to take a vitamin/mineral supplement also. And, if you're really into veggies, you can make green smoothies with Fiber One too.I LOVE FIBER ONE AND MY TRIBEST BLENDER!!!!

Give me my Fiber One!

by Las Vegas Baby from Las Vegas, NV USA on 2010-05-15
Every month, I send Fiber One bars to my cousin. She has been bedridden in a nursing home for over 5 years. AND SHE LOVES FIBER ONE!I was greatly disturbed when she called me and said she had not received her monthly shipment. I checked with Amazon and discovered that the package had been delivered on May 4th. Therefore, I can only speculate what happened.I don't know who is more distressed - my cousin or me. She LOVES her Fiber One Oats and Chocolate! It serves as a healthy evening snack or when she is watching television and gets "the hungries."I hope there will be no further experiences of this type and that I can continue to send her Fiber One every month.Thank you for the opportunity to relate this story to you and for the wonderful Fiber One products.

Taste Awful

by M. Bernhagen from Minneapolis, MN on 2010-04-08
I have tried and enjoyed the Fiber One 90 Calorie Chocolate bars, so I thought I would try these Oats and Chocolate bars since they were on sale. After making my way through two boxes (I usually eat one a day as a snack). At this point, I can't eat anymore. The taste is just bad. It's not disgusting or anything, but they do not taste good by any means. I can only handle eating one a week now, or have one daily and always have something else better to eat right afterward. Oats and Chocolate made me think I was going to get something that tasted like Quaker Granola Bars. That is not the case, I don't even know that chocolate is an ingredient. They just taste bad. Try the Fiber One 90 Calorie Chocolate bars - somehow, the healthier bars taste better.

cheaper @ the warehouse store

i love these bars! I was sad to find out that I spent almost 2x as much as I could have - the warehouse store had it for 9.99 for 30.

Compare with any other product

by Norman Girard from CT - USA on 2009-11-30
I state that you can compare, as I have, and for the money and taste and freshness, Fiber One bars are the best in quality. If it cost less, check the fiber content of how many grams of fiber, and thats the answer. You need to eat two bars, or close, to equal one Fiber One bars grams of fiber.I tried a less expensive bar at Amazon and the taste made me gag.I bought three cases and the product was very stale. All that waste of money for garbage.I am staying with my tried and true best value Fiber One.

One of the better high fiber cereals

by Fred Camfield from Vicksburg, MS USA on 2010-04-14
I generally like cereal with a little less sugar. I can add my own sweetener if I want it. Otherwise, it is a good flake type cereal with a good quantity of fiber. It is a little low on protein compared to some cereal, but people generally add some protein by using milk. You can add your choice of fruit (I usually like a combination of sliced banana and strawberries, and sometimes add blueberries).

Yummy

by Happy Crafter from on 2010-01-08
Yummy and high fiber cereal, we like to eat it out of the box for a snack as well as with milk.

Great cereal! More fiber, without the disappointment.

by Benjamin Haley from on 2009-11-18
This cereal is absolutely fantastic...best fiber cereal yet that I've found. It tastes more like I'm eating something just tasty instead of great for me. Does wonders for the digestive health too.

It ain't your old-fashioned cardboard!

by Amozarte from Saint Louis, MO - United States on 2009-09-17
Fiber One Honey Clusters accomplishes something most other fiber-laden foods don't: It has flavour!I was originally turned on to this cereal by a nutritional website's ranking of top cereals. Compared to other "ultra-healthy" cereals like the original Fiber One it may not be the healthiest but it's a nice compromise to get a little sweetness out of your "grown-up" food while still providing some very worthwhile health & nutritional benefits.I don't know that any kids are going to be begging their parents for this because it obviously doesn't have all the sweetness of super-sugary cereals, but it also doesn't taste like cardboard and for those of us grown-ups who still have a bit of a sweet tooth, it fills the bill. (If you want to add a bit of extra flavour, try it with Vanilla Silk soy milk.)Also, if you're the type of person for whom a single bowl of cereal doesn't cut it hunger-wise, this may have you singing a different tune in your morning shower. Foods high in fiber give you a greater sense of being full so naturally this cereal should be able to keep you satisfied until your next meal. One word of caution though: For those of you who have not consumed high-fiber foods or taken Metamucil as a supplement before, start small and work your way up. It's not uncommon to experience some uncomfortable digestive consequences if you try to take in too much fiber all at once without giving your body time to adjust. In the long-term, though, fiber is obvisouly a fantastic way to keep your digestion in tip-top shape.Since Amazon only sells cereal in bulk, I always recommend taste-testing a single box at your local grocery. But once you know you like it, the Subscribe & Save program may just save you money AND deliver your groceries to your door!

Chicory Root Extract = Agony

by Matthew Peterson from on 2010-08-16
Look up "fiber one" and "Chicory root extract", also known as inulin.I had a few Fiber One bars at a conference a few years ago, and I was out of commission for several days, ruining my conference. This past week, my wife bought me the Fiber One raisin bran. I normally eat regular Fiber One and mix it with another cereal to give it some flavor, and I've never had problems with Fiber One cereal in the past. Not so with the raisin bran, which unlike regular Fiber One, contains chicory root extract (aka inulin). The stomach cramps this weekend were killing me, and I thought I had food poisoning. It was only after reading the ingredients this morning (monday) that I realized it was the chicory root in the Fiber One raisin bran cereal. I can't believe the FDA allows this as an ingredient.[...]

Yum!

by H. Culbertson from Cedar Falls, Iowa on 2010-08-04
This is like a better version of raisin bran. It tastes better and is better for you! It is the perfect snack or breakfast.

It's not the cereal

by K. Maher from Michigan on 2010-08-04
We had it set up where we had a regular monthly order of 4 boxes of the Raisin Bran Clusters delivered once a month. By doing this we received a 15% discount and free delivery. It worked out it was less expensive then the local store, unless you had coupons, but it was convenient. It took me awhile to notice but after 2 months they raised the price from $15.02 per 4 boxes to $16.95 per 4 boxes. Some jump! We like this cereal so much we were averaging about 15 boxes every 2 months, although we would buy at the store when we found it on sale or had coupons. The reason for the bad score was not so much the cereal but the way they sucked us in on their montly delivery, then raised the price. Shame on you Amazon!!!!!!!!

Fiber One Raisin Bran Clusters

by Betty Boop from USA on 2010-04-20
This cereal is really good. My local stores have recently come down in their prices so I buy it locally now. Walmart sells it for $3.80 per box. There is nothing you can't use this for. Make some biscuits. Try some muffins. Throw a handful into your spaghetti sauce. The options are limitless. Have fun with this. Heck, sit down and have a bowl of cereal even.

by mg from san francisco, ca on 2010-02-13
Tastes great plain or with milk. I like it because it's sweeter tasting and has more fiber than other fiber cereals. Fiber one caramel clusters are good too.

Delicious and Effective

by Chelsea Day from Wichita, KS USA on 2010-09-03
This item is a healthy and delicious snack, although I do not recommend exceeding the recommended daily value. Likewise, too much of a good thing can be bad. I suggest not eating one every day, but maybe 2-3 times a week tops. They're quick, easy, and health conscious!

Not as good as from the store...

by Rochelle Hartley from Providence, RI United States on 2010-07-25
I love Fiber One bars and consider them essential to have with me as a snack throughout the workday. However, I was slightly disappointed with the quality of the bars from Amazon. Somehow they tasted a little less fresh and more like cardboard than the ones I've been used to. The price is a great deal but do be aware that the quality may not be what you expect...

Delicious

by Elizabeth Cantrall from Virginia, USA on 2009-12-04
These bars are delicious and chocolate-y, and definitely taste sweeter and more decadent than 140 calories each. Although most people would probably say that the fact that they are packaged 2 per box is wasteful, I actually find it to be really convenient, because I can fit the small packages in my backpack to take them to school and avoid having them be crushed in there. I would never keep them in the box if they were 5 to a box, like the normal packages are, and they would always get crushed and not be as good anymore. Overall, great product, great taste, great value, and great nutrition.

by xcfool from TX on 2009-10-12
As much as I like these fiber bars eating 32 bars in less than 2 months is not what I had in mind. Sure I eat fiber daily but it might not be this specific bar and with an expiration date of 11/09 I was forced to. Otherwise they are tasty and help keep you regulated.

MOST DELICIOUS GRANOLA'S ON THE PLANET!

by S. Taylor from Atlanta, GA, US on 2010-03-12
These granola bars are DIVINE! Best I have ever tasted. Fiber One bars will give you some serious digestional problems for the first week or so. It's not the bars, it's fiber in general. If you are not use to getting the fiber that you need, your body will not know what to do but by the second week, you'll be good to go and much healthier for it.These Chocolate Mocha bars are amazing.

Fiber One: It helps you go to the toilet.

by Renter from USA on 2009-09-07
Just paraphrasing Emory Leeson's Metamucil ad from the movie "Crazy People," because eating these bars produces a similar effect. They are absolutely delicious, like a candy bar. The Chocolate Mocha flavored ones taste appealingly of coffee. The bars contain 9 grams of fiber as well as a generous portion of chicory.I would highly recommend them for long road trips, when you're facing a constipating diet of grease, cheese, starch, and more cheese day in and day out. These bars will clean out the pipes, and they travel well, being individually wrapped in fairly sturdy cellophane. For other situations, keep in mind that you might be spending quality time on the can within a few hours of eating one. So, maybe not the ideal desert with which to finish up a hot date.

This is my personal favorite flavor of these bars ... they're more of a butterscotchey than a carameley. I eat one almost every day so I don't mind getting such a large quantity because they do get eaten. Much cheaper to buy here with free shipping than a box a week in the store, that's for sure.

BEST cereal ever! I can't get enough.

by BB from South Riding, VA on 2009-03-19
Far and away the best cereal I've ever had! My husband and I literally go through at least a box a week. We have started ordering by the case because it's hard to find in our area.Yes, it's sweet, but I'm a dyed in the wool Frosted Flakes fan, so it wasn't too sweet for me. If you look at many 'healthy' cereals, they have sugar too - a cup of FOCD is only 40 calories more than Special K Red Berries (my old 'healthy' cereal.).I think the taste is rather like Golden Grahams - not a lot of cinnamon that I could detect to make it taste like Cinnamon Toast Crunch (a healthy substitute would be the new Total Cinnamon Crunch).5 stars!

Sugary but high in fiber

by Sam from southern california on 2009-01-28
As a young guy im concerned with taste and also fiber content. This is high in sugar/carbs but it's entirely justified for the great taste and the high fiber. No other cereal taste this good and is moderately good for you. Other fiber one cereals maybe healthier, but they taste like pinecones and sticks.

Product Great - Shipping/Billing Error

by C. Rohrback from Laveen, AZ on 2008-12-21
The product is great as a cereal or snack. It's a very tasty and convenient way to get extra fiber in your diet. Problem occurred when only one 15.6 ounce box was shipped, but I was billed for the 4 pack. Customer Service quickly addressed the issue, but I discontinued the "auto ship".

Fiber None

by A. Ritland from Madison, WI on 2008-09-29
Fiber one products actually don't have real fiber. They contain inulin (from chicory root) which is technically fiber because the body can't digest it. Unfortunately fiber is defined by anything that can't be broken down easily. These products do not contain REAL fiber. (The real fiber usually found in whole grain breads and bran cereals) So if it says "chicory root" or "inulin" in the ingredients, you can be sure you aren't eating the fiber your body can actually use. So if you want lots of sugar and fat without fiber, this product is for you.

A little too sweet but still delicious and great for GI health.

by Yuni from Chicago, IL on 2008-09-18
I was a skeptic about this product until I tried it with skim milk. This cereal is delicious and retains its crunch even after 5 minutes of being soaked in milk. I enjoy its texture and caramelly flavor. I think it could definitely be less sweet and lower carb, but so far, I find this cereal to have the highest fiber content. The other vitamins and minerals a single serving contains is also comparable to similar products by other companies. This is perfect for breakfast or a snack any time of the day!
