Any chefs out there have an idea? Baklava or lovers?
I made a huge batch of pistachio Baklava and it turned out just a pinch of salt. Instead of going to lose it immediately froze. Now I want to do is to use to make other dishes. Maybe some kind of crust? (I have no idea what the good taste within the crust !???) Another type of dessert? Some kind of granola bar? candy? If you have any idea, if u have tried or not, please suggest! And what are some ways to keep from being to baklava salt? I tried to minimize salt and use unsalted butter, plus any other ideas? Baklava And anyone does, whether at work or at home and have a yummy recipe (regardless of size) since it plz! I'd love an old family recipe of baklava!
Rinse pistachios are probably processed with salt.

Nickname and work life
William Frederick Cody ("Buffalo Bill") got his nickname after he held a contract to supply railroad workers Kansas Pacific with buffalo meat. The nickname originally referred to Bill Comstock. Cody earned his nickname by killing 4860 American Bison (commonly known as buffalo) in eight months (186 768). Comstock him and eventually competed in a shooting on the exclusive right to use the name that Cody won.
In addition to his documented service as a soldier during the Civil War and as Chief Scout of the Third Cavalry during the Plains Wars, Cody claimed to have worked many jobs, even as a hunter, bullwhacker, "Fifty-Niner" in Colorado, a Pony Express rider in 1860, wagonmaster, stagecoach driver, and even a director hotel, but it is unclear which claims were made and that were manufactured for the purpose of advertising. He became world famous for his Wild West shows.
The early years
William Cody at age 19
While giving a speech against slavery in the local trading post, his father so inflamed the supporters of slavery in the audience they formed a mob and stabbed one of them. Cody helped to drag his father to safety, but never fully recovered from his injuries. The family was persecuted continuously by the supporters of slavery, forcing Isaac Cody to spend much of their time away from home. His enemies knowledge of a planned visit to his family and plotted to kill him on the road. Cody, despite his youth and the fact that he was ill, was 30 miles (48 km) to warn his father. Cody's father died in 1857 due to complications of his stabbing.
After the death of his father, the Cody family suffered financial difficulties, and Cody, 11, began working with a company transport as an extra child, "" riding the entire length of a wagon train, delivering messages. From there, he joined the army Johnston as an unofficial member of the scouts assigned to guide the army to Utah to quell a rebellion falsely informed by the Mormon population of Salt Lake City. By Cody's story in the history of Buffalo Bill, the Utah War was where he first began his career as a boxer "Indian."
Today the moon right in front of me, and painted boldly across its face was the figure of an Indian. He had this war-top Sioux in his shoulder was a rifle pointed at someone in the background River, 30 feet (9 meters) below, in another second he dropped one of my friends. I raised my old mouth-loader and fired. The figure fell, the banks fell and fell with a splash in the water. "What is it? 'Called McCarthy, as he hurried back." That's in the water. " "Hi!" "He shouted. 'Little Billy killed himself an Indian! Thus began my career as a fighter of India.

Buffalo Bill Wild West
The Wild West Show, 1890
In December 1872 Cody traveled to Chicago to make his debut on stage with his friend, Texas Jack Omohundro in the Scouts of the Prairie, one of the first Wild West shows produced by Ned Buntline. During the 1873-74 season, Cody and Omohundro invited his friend James Butler "Wild Bill" Hickok to join them in a new play called Scouts of the Plains.
The company on tour for ten years and its part typically included an 1876 incident at Warbonnet Creek where he claimed to have scalped a Cheyenne warrior, purportedly in revenge for the death of George Armstrong Custer.
It was the era of great showmen and traveling artists. Cody put together a new show based on both travel these forms of entertainment. In 1883 in the area of North Platte, Nebraska, he founded "Buffalo Bill's Wild West" (despite popular belief, the word "Show" was not part of the title) in a circus attraction that toured annually.
In 1893 the title was changed to "Buffalo Bill's West Wild and Congress of Rough Riders of the World ". The show began with a parade on horseback, with the participation of cultural groups that included horse-military U.S. and others, American Indians, and artists from around the world in their finery. There were Turks, Gauchos, Arabs, Mongols and Georgians, among others, each showing its own distinctive horses and colorful costumes. Visitors to this spectacle could see the main events, feats of skill, held races and barracks. Many personalities authentic western part of the show. For example, Sitting Bull and a band of twenty warriors appeared. Performers holders Cody were well known in their own right. People like Annie Oakley and her husband Frank Butler put on shooting exhibitions along the likes of Gabriel Dumont. Buffalo Bill and his performers performers to recreate the Riding Pony Express, Indian attacks on wagon trains, and theft diligence. The show usually ends with a melodramatic re- enactment of Custer's Last Battle in which Cody is portrayed General Custer.

The benefits of your program enabled him to buy a ranch of 4,000 acres (16 km2) near North Platte, Nebraska in 1886. Scout Rest Ranch includes a mansion of eighteen rooms and a large barn winter storage of livestock in the series.
In 1887 he took the sample to Britain in the celebration of the jubilee of Queen Victoria. The show opened in London before going to Birmingham and Salford, near Manchester, where he remained for five months. In 1889 the show toured Europe. In 1890 he met with Pope Leo XIII. Mounted an exhibition near the Chicago World's Fair of 1893, which contributed greatly to its popularity, and it bothers the promoters of the fair. As noted in The Devil in the White City, which had been rejected in its request to be part of the fair, which created store just west of the fairgrounds, drawing many away from their employers. Since his show was not part of the fair, which was not required to pay royalties to developers, who could have used to temper their problems financial.
Irrigation
Larry McMurtry, with some historians and RL Wilson, says that in the early 20th century Buffalo Bill Cody was the most recognizable celebrity land. And yet, despite all the recognition and appreciation shown for Cody brought Western and American Indian cultures, Buffalo Bill saw the changing American West dramatically during his tumultuous life. herds of bison, which have reached a time in the millions, and were threatened with extinction. Railroads crossed the plains, wire tine, and other types of fences divided the land to farmers and ranchers and Indian tribes once were now threatens almost completely confined to reservations. Wyoming coal resources, oil and natural gas began to be exploited towards the end of his life.
Even the Shoshone River was dammed for hydroelectric power, and for irrigation. In 1897 and 1899 Cody and his partners acquired in the State of Wyoming the right to take water from the Shoshone River to irrigate about 169,000 acres (680 km2) of land in the Big Horn Basin. They began development of a canal to carry water diverted from the river, but their plans do not include a water storage tank. Cody and his companions were unable to raise sufficient capital to complete its plan. In early 1903 he joined with the Wyoming Board of Land Commissioners to urge the federal government to step in and help with the development of irrigation in the valley.
The Shoshone Project became one of the first projects federal water development undertaken by the newly formed Service Rehabilitation, later to be known as the Bureau of Reclamation. After recovery took over the project in 1903, the investigation of Engineers recommended the construction of a dam on the Shoshone River in the west of Canyon Cody.
Construction Shoshone Dam began in 1905, a years after the project was authorized Shoshone. Nearly three decades after its construction, the name of the dam and reservoir was changed to Buffalo Bill Dam by Act of Congress in honor of Cody.
Life in Cody, Wyoming
In 1895, William Cody was instrumental in the founding of Cody, the seat of Park County in northwestern Wyoming. The area used for the community now is the Way Old Town Museum, which honors the traditions of western life. Cody first passes through the region in the 1870s. I was so impressed by the development possibilities from irrigation, rich soil, great scenery, hunting, and proximity to Yellowstone Park that he returned the mid-1890s to start a city. He brought with him the men whose names are still in the street signs in downtown Cody area Beck, Alger, Rumsey, Bleistein and Salsbury. The city was incorporated in 1901.
In November 1902, Cody opened the Irma Hotel in downtown Cody, a hotel of his daughter's name. He envisioned a growing number of tourists coming to the city via the railway line recently opened Burlington. He hoped they would spend money in local businesses, including the Hotel Irma. Cody also expected to continue on the road to Cody for the North Fork Shoshone River to visit the park Yellowstone. To accommodate travelers along the way, Cody, Cody completed construction of the Wapiti Inn and Pahaska Tepee in 1905 and opened for guests.
Cody also established the TE Ranch, located in the South Fork of the Shoshone River about thirty-five miles from Cody. When acquired ownership of TE, ordered the movement of South Dakota, Nebraska and Wyoming cattle. This new herd carried the brand TE. The late 1890s were relatively prosperous years for the Buffalo Bill Wild West and used some of the benefits that accumulate land holdings were added to TE. Cody eventually held about eight thousand acres (32 km) of private land grazing operations and ran around a thousand head of cattle. It also operates a ranch vacation, camping trips beast of burden, and large enterprises in TE Ranch hunting in the South Fork of the Shoshone River. In wide-field home and comfortable entertaining guests notable in Europe and America.
Life in Staten Island, New York
Cody brought his Wild West Show "in an area called Erastina Mariners port (named for Staten Island promoter Erastus Wiman) for two seasons from June to October in 1886 and again in 1887. During the winter of 1886, the show moved into Madison Square Garden. His show, with the Native Americans, trick riders, "the smallest cowboy" and handles (as Annie Oakley) is said to have attracted millions of visitors to the island.
His autobiography 1879 is entitled The Life and Adventures of Buffalo Bill
Death
Buffalo Bill's grave on Lookout Mountain in Colorado.
William F. Cody died of kidney failure Jan. 10 , 1917, surrounded by family and friends at his sister in Denver. Cody was baptized into the Roman Catholic Church the day before his death by Father Christopher Walsh, Cathedral Denver. Upon the death of Cody, received tributes from the King George V of the United Kingdom, Kaiser Wilhelm II of Germany, Imperial, and President Woodrow Wilson. His funeral was in Denver at the Elks Lodge Hall. Wyoming Governor Juan B. Kendrick, a friend of Cody, led the funeral procession to the Elks Lodge.
Contrary to popular belief, Cody was not homeless, but his fortune, once was reduced to large under $ 100,000. Despite its application in an advance that was buried in Cody, Wyoming, an afternoon Funeral arrangements were left to his wife Louisa. Today, there is controversy as to where Cody should have been buried. According to writer Larry McMurtry, Harry Tammen and Frederick Gilmer Bonfils of the Denver Post, which had Cody heavily armed as they appear in his Sells-Floto Circus, either "bullied or deceived the grieving Louisa" and had Cody buried in Colorado. This is consistent with an account by Gene Fowler, who wrote the obituary for Cody Post under the direction of Tammen and Bonfils.
The June 3rd 1917, Cody was buried on Lookout Mountain in Golden Colorado, Colorado, west of the city of Denver, on the edge of the Rocky Mountains, overlooking the Great Plains. His exact grave was selected by his sister, Mrs. Mary Decker, while looking over the area accompanied by WFR Mills, director of the Denver Mountain Parks. In 1948, the Cody branch of the American Legion offered a reward for the "Return" of the body, so the Denver branch mounted a guard at the tomb until a tree criticized can be deeper in the rock.
Legacy
Buffalo Bill Cody in 1903
In contrast to his image and stereotype as rough nature lover, Buffalo Bill pushed for the rights of American Indians and women. Moreover, despite its history of killing bison, he supported their conservation by speaking out against hunting to hide and press for a hunting season.
Buffalo Bill became so well known and his exploits so ingrained in American culture that his character has appeared in many literary works, as well as television programs and movies, and two U.S. postage stamps. Westerns were very popular in the 1950s and 60s, and Buffalo Bill make an appearance in many of them. As a character, he is very popular in the Broadway musical Annie Get Your Gun, which was very successful both with Ethel Merman and more recently with Bernadette Peters in the lead role.
Having been a frontier scout who respected the natives, was a staunch defender of their rights. He used many native more than Sitting Bull, feeling his program offered a better life, calling them "the old enemy, the friend of today, the" American and once said:
"Every Indian outbreak that I have known has resulted from broken promises and broken treaties by the government."
While in his shows the Indians were usually the "bad", attacking wagon trains and stagecoaches to be driven off by "heroic" cowboys and soldiers, Bill also wives and children of indigenous performers set up camp as they would in the countries of origin as part of the show, so that the public could pay to see the human side of the warriors "fierce", which were families like any other, only part of a different culture.
The city Cody, Wyoming was founded in 1896 by Cody and some investors, and is named for him. It is home to the Buffalo Bill Historical Center. Fifty miles from Yellowstone National Park, became a tourist magnet with many dignitaries and political leaders coming to hunt. Bill, in fact, spend a great deal of time in Wyoming at his home in Cody. However, it also had a house in the city of North Platte, Nebraska and later built the Scout Rest Ranch there, where it climbed to family between shows. This western Nebraska town is still home to "Nebraskaland Days, an annual festival including concerts and a big rodeo. The Scout Rest Ranch in North Platte is both a museum and a tourist destination for thousands of people every year.
Buffalo Bill became a hero of the Bills, a Congolese youth subculture of the late 1950s who idolized Western movies.

In 1942, when Fascist Italy found at war with the United States, the publisher added a note that allegedly show that Buffalo Bill was in fact an Italian immigrant named Domenico Tombini, originating Romagna, Mussolini's own home province - a family tree for which no shred of historical evidence exists. Thus, the adventure could continue to publish in wartime Italy, under the title "Buffalo Bill, Hero of the Italian plains."

![]() Trail Mix Sale Price: $18.00 Eligible for free shipping!Availability: Usually ships in 24 hours See Reviews For This Product DescriptionIncluded in this book are four short stories, each unique in story themes. The first story "Saving the Land of Zafer" is a fantasy about a brother and sister who must travel to a mythical land to save the queen from an evil curse. The second story "Kova" is done in an "Outer Limits" style. Here the reader finds that a nothing is what it purports to be. The third story "Forever & Ever, Amen" came out of an exercise from Stephen King's book "On Writing". This is my rendition of a relationship that has gone horribly wrong or otherwise affectionally known as 'the psycho wife.' The fourth, but not the least of the stories, "The Incident at Green Valley Lake," is a story of three adolescents who encounter UFO's, aliens, and their own fears in the quiet little town they call home. |
