Where can I buy organic fish?


I am trying to find a place that I can buy organic fish(grouper, Mahai Mahi, red snapper) Frozen is OK because I live in a remote area in GA and it is hard to buy in my town. Also looking for place to buy all organic meats (chicken, beef) mail order or stores in Blairsville GA

I am a former chef and concur to the first repsondant, as there are no grading systems for fish, plus the water most fish swim in are not alway the cleaniest, even farmed fish are from ponds in old gravel pits or man made.

The only way is to find a fish store that sells from a good supplier to maintain it is as fresh as possible, the regulation for organic meats mean they have been raised naturally with no hormone, antibiotics or stimulants and they were certified by the FDA and USDA.

Organic Meats are Chemical Free and Raised Naturally

Even when organic farming is appreciated and supported by a lot of people, not many are aware about what exactly is involved in raising livestock for organic meats. Currently, there are several products on the market claiming to be natural or organic, yet this is deceptive, and they're receiving undeserved awards for begin organic beef. The credibility of organic farming has gone down because there is a lot of confusion regarding the regulations for labeling a product as organic.

 

 

 

It is tougher to produce natural meats because of all the issues involved with contamination as compared to vegetables crops. Using growth hormones is the most prevalent danger with raising livestock in certain areas of the country. You need to understand very clearly that even though some meats may carry a label stating 'natural' or 'hormone free' they may not be truly organic. Look for the 'USDA Certified Organic' label to be sure that the meats you buy are actually organic.

 

 

 

The food that is provided to the animals as they are growing and being prepared for the market determines whether the meat is organic or not organic. The farmers who actually wish to give their livestock organic food have created it by themselves, the majority of the time. Even from tractors to hay machines to grain combines, tillage and planting gear, this requires a lot of investment in equipment to be verified as organic farming. Additional farms which produce organic meats purchase food which has been certified organic from different farms to feed their livestock.

 

 

 

These are the challenges of organic farming, and they show why organic meats is often more expensive than non-organic meat. When issues such as diseases, parasites and other health problems come up, organic farmers find themselves with their hands tied because of the strict regulations put in place by organic certification. The method of producing organic meat is not easy. Many farmers may cut corners to prevent financial ruin for their business. The regulations concerning the labeling of organic foods are not always as strict like they should be. When you speak to organic farmers, you come to understand that raising organic crops is relatively easy in comparison to raising livestock the organic way.

 

 

 

When you go to an organic store to buy organic meats, you can't be absolutely certain of the product even though it may be carrying the label of organic and having the requisite certification. Something which has fewer chemicals or any whatsoever, is likely to be much better than something with a lot of chemicals.
