Organic Gummy Candy

What is an organic substitute for gelatin when making candy?

I am creating a line of organic gummy bears and other candies. Most of them require gelatin, can I still call them organic when they have gelatin in them? If not, what is a good subsitute?

Gelatin is usually organic as it is derived from the collagen inside animals' skin and bones. (Unless you mean organic in the sense that the animals it came from weren't pumped full of chemicals. In which case you can still find organic gelatin being sold but at a much higher price.)

Personally, I would use pectin for gummy candies instead of gelatin. It works better and comes from plants. (Organic pectin doesn't cost much more than normal pectin.)
