Eating meat from grass-fed beef over grain-fed animals

As eco-label learning, learning the difference between the way we produce meat can help you make an educated decision. If you eat meat, you should already know that eating organic beef is healthier for you. However, you may not know about the differences between grain and GRASS diets based on cows. The cows on a diet of cereal grains to eat high-calorie food in batches, which are fattened quickly. While this is cheaper for farmers and increases the efficiency of beef production, fattening cows with grain grain setting effect, increasing fat and cholesterol levels. grass-based diets, however, are just that - the cows are raised on pasture and eat grass, as if they were meant to!

The New York Times discusses the differences between the two, pointing to a new study from California State University at Chico. After three decades, this new research examines how beef compares nutritionally grass-fed beef and grain-fed beef. And the winner is ... grass-fed!

Research found that grass-fed animals are healthier, because they have lower levels of cholesterol. They also have higher levels of antioxidant vitamins A and E,, and omega-3 fatty acids, which we know are important for cardiovascular health, as well as higher levels of conjugated linoleic acid (CLA), which helps tissues support healthy muscle.

Although the study went so far as to say that you are unsure about the impact of eating meat from grass-fed beef will have on human health, it makes sense to eat beef with higher levels of vitamins, omega-3 fatty acids and CLA is bound to be better for your health than meat that offers much less value nutrition. In addition, animals raised on grass based diets often presented in a more human than their counterparts in fat, and are usually given no antibiotics or growth hormones.

The next time you're grocery shopping, look for beef grass-fed labels. If the label says "process shield verified, then the meat has been limited to very specific rules for food of grass, based on the standards set by the Department of Agriculture U.S.. Alternatively, look for labels href = "http://www.americangrassfed.org/"> American Grassfed Association, which have rules strict, even for beef grass-fed. Where I can go to find a supplier of raw milk?

My organic farmer I've been going for chicken and eggs, beef grass-fed, and the high rank of pork was also my supplier of raw milk. But they were losing money by offering milk products, so two months ago, they stopped. Since then I have been looking for a premium provider local dairy, but I'm having trouble finding a reliable source.
