My guinea pigs stink!?

My daughter received two piggies this X-Mas grandfather. We love you to death and sweet as can be. I wish I could say the same for no cage. I am now washing almost every day. Cedar chips are bad for the pigs and do not want to put in any danger because of my nose. It's baking soda or cat litter safe? I fear for your health when the cage smells like urine because of the bacteria. Pigs smells good. Give them pellets with dried basil, timothy hay and organic fruits, vegetables and vegetables.
