Organic Cooking

Pots and Solutions for your kitchen clutter
If your family is like most, the kitchen is the heart of the home. This is really evident in the construction housing and renovation over the past 10 years, kitchens that open the way to feeding areas and family rooms. However, with all its importance in the family, usually one of the most disorganized rooms in the house. The constant flow of traffic and household management that takes place here only adds to the chaos. So what can you do?
First start with a plan (this is the underlying theme of all my items - for now you know the secret of productive organization) When you think about it cooking in general has four to five areas: food preparation, cooking, cleaning! Storage Food and household management.
Food preparation is carried out on a counter and / or an island, so it will be the best place to store knives, measuring cups and spoons, bowls and artifacts related to the preparation of a meal. Required cooking utensils, pots and pans, baking dishes and toaster. This area should definitely be near the stove and if you're lucky, the microwave oven is conveniently located upstairs. Clean the course is under the sink and next to the dishwasher. Here you can store all your cleaning products and sponges. If you have the smallest house insurance for children in this cabinet is a MUST! And finally, food storage, located near the fridge, you need space not only for food, but the coats and plastic items storage as well.
The administration area of the home is probably the area that seems to take over the room, and sometimes oozing to the dining room. Paper is everywhere, but I can never find the part you need when you need it. And if it does is dotted with spaghetti sauce. The key to this area is to ensure that the only role that remains in the kitchen is "active" role, things that we must act accordingly. The document that you need to keep in storage must be removed immediately and given a new home (a home office perhaps). How the active role being stored is a matter of personal preference, but people generally choose either categorically (folders pending "accounts payable", "Called to do", etc) or regular (folders tickler on the basis of a perpetual calendar). You will also have space for basic office supplies and shipping materials.
Depending on the size family and home, the kitchen can also double as homework and craft area. If that is the case, then be sure to carve out a space for these things as well. A good solution for materials that their children may need access to a small bowl or two in the bottom of a closet.
The kitchen can have a day whole to organize, but if the thought is too difficult, then divide it into smaller tasks. Maybe you start with the infamous junk drawer one day and move to the next cabinet. As you sort through the various things in the kitchen, make sure you put in lots of similar items. Soon you can see where has many of an item and therefore it is easy to start letting things (purge - the hardest part of any proposed organization!)
Purge items you no longer need or food that now qualifies as a scientific experiment. To help with this effort, make sure you always have a magazine for items to be donated. Sometimes you do not feel so bad getting rid of the kitchen "chatchky" that is never used, but paid good money for, if you know someone else will. Empty the trash often so that a can not become an excuse to keep something that does not really use or need.
When the dust settles (Or better still removed) and you're ready to put your kitchen in order, be sure to make an investment in storage paraphernalia. As a carpenter, the right tools make the difference. Lazy Susan (or spin plates) will help maximize space, even in the deepest corner. Extension of the shelf step will ensure that the tomato paste is not lost on the back of the panty. Style drawer organizers from the pot and lid are forwarded to his knees to find the frying pan a thing of the past. And the removable racks, baskets on shelves and hanging storage organizers allow you to make maximum use of even the smallest space.
So if your kitchen is the heart of your home, do yourself a favor and reduce the "clutter" so that you can enjoy a long and healthy life.

![]() Your Organic Kitchen: The Essential Guide to Selecting and Cooking Organic Foods Sale Price: $30.00 See Reviews For This Product DescriptionOrganic foods are the fastest-growing trend in cooking. In Your Organic Kitchen, nationally known chef and restauranteur Jesse Ziff Cool shows you the how's and why's of cooking with organics, from stocking your organic pantry to combining seasonal flavors and creating exciting, elegant dishes. Best of all, she offers up a treasure trove of 160 magnificent recipes that reflect her love of food and her commitment to sustainable agriculture and cuisine. "To me," says chef-author Jesse Ziff Cool, "restaurants as well as home kitchens should be places where food is simply as pure as it can be, and always served with love." In Your Organic Kitchen, Cool has culled 160 recipes from her 25 years in the restaurant business and from her food-loving family to share with the public. Cool is an unabashed believer in organically grown and raised foods: pure foods equal healthier bodies, she says, plus foods raised without pesticides or hormone enhancements simply taste better. Cool divides her cookbook into eight seasons, distinguishing, for example, between the first juicy strawberries of early summer and the bounty of fresh tomatoes and peppers in midsummer. Each section contains recipes for appetizers, main and side dishes, and desserts. She balances savory vegetarian options like Roasted Root Vegetables with Apples and Mustard with nonvegetarian dishes like Lamb Burgers with Caramelized Shallots. Clear and straightforward, many of the recipes contain ingredients that you will already have on hand or that are easily purchased at your local market. To help you build an organic kitchen, Cool gives suggestions on how to begin stocking your pantry with organic spices, pastas, and grains. Essays on organic farms and companies crop up throughout the book--although they read rather like product advertisements and would work better if simply represented in the list of organic food providers in the back of the book. While Your Organic Kitchen is intended for organic cooks, you can still make the recipes if you don't have all organic ingredients, and you should--these recipes are too delectable not to try. --Dana Van Nest |
