If you are considering a permanent measure to the Jersey shore, renting for the summer, or simply planning a getaway, there is a perfect community for you and your family. Each of the following locations has a unique blend of history and modern flavor that attracts tourists and new residents alike.

Allenhurst

The Allen family farm was purchased in 1895 and 028 miles square of land area "Allenhurst" was formed. Allenhurst has become one of the richest cities on the coast of New Jersey. The Victorian and Tudor style houses and the small town atmosphere Allenhurst neighborhood today are a desirable place to live and visit. The picturesque village has small shops, an award winning bakery and restaurants, while a nearby lake offers fishing and boating. A popular spot is the Allenhurst Beach Club. Located at the end of Corlies Road, the club has beautiful pools and a restaurant open during the summer.

Asbury Park

Starting as a complex dynamic of New Jersey shore community in 1870, Asbury Park has set trends and produced cultural icons around the 20th century. The legendary Asbury Park has played an important role in people's memory of summer fun and the best of what a community can be very creative together. Because charismatic Asbury Park is historically and culturally attractive, the current renaissance is a logical continuation of a century of challenges, the reactivation and growth. At the heart of the city of Asbury Park and the new promenade, the pulse of the activity is visible with many restaurants, galleries and shops. Old buildings being reclaimed, renovated and restored are attracting buyers and investors across the country. Come visit our beloved "City by the Sea".

Avon-by-the-Sea

Incorporated as "Avon-by-the-Sea", 23 March 1900, this beautiful coastal city is a great place for swimming and relaxing in the summer sun. Plenty of good restaurants, shops, Victorian homes and a beautiful promenade and beach to Avon one of the most relaxing places in New Jersey. Do not miss the famous macaroni shop on Main Street.

Belmar

Originally called "Ocean Beach", was founded in Belmar 1872. In 1889, the city was renamed Belmar, which is French for "Beautiful Sea". Today, Belmar is one of the busiest cities in the Jersey shore, as it attracts many families and singles over the summer. Belmar large marina, great fishing and boating and the fabulous restaurants Belmar a desirable place to be. In mid Summer Professional Volleyball Tournament on July 8 through the 10th adds to the appeal of this summer destination.

Bradley Beach

Founded in 1893, Bradley Beach is an ocean playground with many choices of recreational activities including: a crowded promenade and beach, mini-golf, concerts summer and dances. This small town has an unusually large number of restaurants and clubs. In 1679, legend has it that Captain Kidd anchored his vessel out of the is now Sylvan Lake and buried his treasure between two trees in today's Brinley Avenue. Today, people throughout the year is 5,000 and rises to 30,000 during the months summer.

Brielle

Present days Brielle was founded in 1664 and late 1800 Brielle started to become a tourist center summer cottages and hotels were built along the Manasquan River. In 1881 a group of investors formed the Brielle Land Association. Interestingly, the name Brielle derives from a town in Holland as the area reminded of the founders of the coastal cities of northern Europe, Sea and English Channel. With no beachfront, Brielle is well known for many recreational opportunities such as fishing, a nationally recognized golf course and its "commercial ports and host to many fishing boats rental.

Eatontown

A little less than 6 square kilometers with a population of around 14,000 people, Eatontown is one of the largest towns of the Jersey Shore. It is long and complicated story began in 1670 when Thomas Eaton, a Quaker, came from Shrewsbury to develop this new land. In 1873 the Legislature the State of New Jersey, made the official name of Eatontown. Due to its central location, Eatontown became a camp and communications center for the war. The camp was renamed after Alfred Vail in honor of the New Jersey inventor who helped develop the Morse telegraph. Many innovations have been developed in what is known as Fort Monmouth, including the detection of radar and aircraft walkie talkies. Ancient Indian trails are a crossroads for travel and shopping Monmouth modern, built in 1959 on an old farm, is the center of town. The war made it necessary to train a large number of telegraph and other communication staff.

Interlaken

Founded in 1888, Interlaken was originally a 364-acre farm. In 1890, the Land of Interlaken Company Development was created and plans for a residential community began. Throughout its history, Interlaken still remains what it is today - a residential community of approximately 400 families. Many of the existing houses were built in the early and mid 1900's by artists, painters, sculptors and writers is the idyllic community, including lakes, being the perfect setting for creative spirits. Surrounded by Deal Lake, walking distance from beaches, shops and transport, Interlaken remains a residential community idyllic.

Lake Como

First settled in 1693, the municipality of Lake Como, south of Belmar, was formally established in 1924. One of the first settlers was Jeremiah Newman, who started his life as a farmer. When people started coming to the coastal city of Jeremiah began selling plots of operations for U.S. $ 1 per hectare. Today's Lake Como has a thriving beachfront offering a walk, shopping, boating and many restaurants.

Little Silver

Little Silver is said to have got its name from a village in Devonshire, England. Established in 1667, first residents were farmers, fishermen and traders. The separation of Shrewsbury in 1923, Little Silver today is a residential community that offers the river by boat, public tennis courts, beautiful parks and the Museum Post. A historic site is the Parker House, which is over 350 years old.

Loch Arbor Village

Tree-lined majestic and beautiful Victorian houses, Loch Arbor, is the only town, and the smallest of the city in Monmouth County. Covering only two blocks wide and five blocks long, Thomas White bought the land in 1820 by Jacob Corlies. Loch Arbor, was incorporated in 1957 and was previously part of Ocean Township. Surrounded by Lake Deal Allenhurst, Loch Arbor's name comes from "lake" which means "lake" and "Arbor, meaning" "Trees". Within walking distance of the beach, shops and restaurants, Loch Arbor empitomizes picturesque coastal village

Long Branch

One of the largest cities the coast of New Jersey, Long Branch was very glamorous in its early days, which attracted many wealthy New Yorkers and adventurers known as Diamond Jim Brady and Lily Langtree. Presidents Grant, Hayes, Harrison, McKinley, Wilson and Garfield all summered in Long Branch. During the 1920s, Long Branch because of his popularity low restriction to the laws of this popular game last time. Currently, Long Branch is experiencing a rebirth that can be seen along the coastline, with many new buildings under construction, many restaurants and active nightlife.

Monmouth Beach

Dating back to 1668, Monmouth Beach was purchased by Eliakim Wardell. In 1842, great grandson of Henry Wardell of the lots sold to the U.S. economy Life Service and in 1865 sold the remainder to Arthur V. Conover. Mr. Conover and other investors founded the Association of Monmouth Beach in 1871. Houses were built overlooking the sea and the community began to thrive. Many of the original 19th century Victorian homes still coexist with new properties currently for making a beach Monmouth idyllic coastal town.

Neptune Township

Incorporated in October 1881, Neptune was the name of the Roman god of the sea. During the last decade, has grown significantly Neptune residential, commercial and on technological advances. A prestigious addition has been the Jersey Shore Medical Center, which is a subsidiary of the Robert Wood Johnson Medical School. Highlights include the town of jumps Brook golf course, restaurants, Shark River Park (Shark River Hills), which has a walking trail, barbecue areas and picnic tables, and the historical town of Ocean Grove. Celebrities Jack Nicholson and Danny DeVito spent his childhood years as friends in Neptune.

Ocean Grove

Founded in 1869, Ocean Grove is a National Historic District. Founded by Bishop Francis Asbury, Ocean Grove (Cape May's sister) has the largest number of Victorian houses in the nation and currently Methodist traditions maintained. The large auditorium built in 1875 and still is home to Sunday worship services and many concerts during the summer. Tents were the first structures in Ocean Grove and now 114 tents still provide summer residence of many families who are descended from original Ocean Grove settlers. The beautiful beach, boardwalk, quaint village, shops and restaurants make Ocean Grove a truly memorable to live and visit.

Ocean Township

From Waretown to Brookville, Ocean Township is a diverse mix of natural beauty, history, recreational opportunities and the wide variety of outlets, including the Seaview Square Mall. With approximately 7,400 inhabitants and covers 21 square miles of ocean town is one of the largest municipalities in Monmouth County.

Oceanport

Located between Red Bank and West Longbranch, Oceanport has a population of approximately 6,000. Oceanport is a residential community quiet famous for Monmouth Park Racetrack. Racing at Monmouth Park began in 1870 and was an immediate success. In 1893 he was forced to close due to the prevention legislation of gambling in New Jersey. Amory Haskell of Red Bank was able to gain support in 1939 to legalize "gambling" in New Jersey, once again, and re-construction the track began. Since World War II, the track was not completed until 1946 and remains one of the most popular circuits in the country.

Point Pleasant

Like many cities of Jersey Shore, Point Pleasant has a rich history. Quaker settlers arrived in the 1700s and early 1800s farmers began renting rooms to visitors. In the 1870s, Sea Captain John Arnold bought land and built a road to the sea - even today we know Arnold Avenue. In 1886, established the town of Point Pleasant. In late 1920, the promenade was reinforced by Orlo Jenkinson, who built a swimming pool and pavilion entertainment. Today, Jenkinson remains a hot spot for entertainment. Point Pleasant is a summer Playland with shopping, entertainment, live music and many restaurants.

Red Bank

In 1736 Red Bank was named when it was sold to Joseph French. He said that the title was defined him as "who goes to Red Bank. Originally from Shrewsbury, Red Bank became a commercial center in mid-1800 and a port for travelers to New York. Today, Red Bank is a city of the hip and vibrant city with great shops, galleries, gourmet restaurants and clubs.

Sea Girt

Founded in 1875 and incorporated in 1917, Sea Girt has a population of approximately 1.05 miles and covers 2148 square. Unlike many other Jersey Shore communities, residents Sea Girt are mainly the year. Know your fine houses, Sea Girt has one of the oldest lighthouses in the nation. The peak of the Sea Girt Lighthouse tower is 60 meters on sea level and was completed in 1896. Do not miss Steakhouse Rod for fun, drink and eat well!

Shrewsbury

Established English settlers in 1667 and incorporated as a city in 1926, Shrewsbury is a residential community that encompasses approximately 2.3 square kilometers with a population of approximately 3600. At one point, Shrewsbury was the largest municipality in New Jersey, which runs from the Navesink River south of Little Egg Harbor. Many places of historical interest include in Shrewsbury, including: Christ Episcopal Church, Friends Meetinghouse, Allen House, and Wardell House. The Grove, an exclusive shopping center, leads people to Shrewsbury throughout Monmouth County. Shrewsbury is also home to the Guild of Creative Art, which is an important and popular center of the arts in Monmouth County.

West Long Branch

In 1908, West Longbranch was created by a group of residents choosing to secede from Shrewsbury. Consistently a residential city, West Longbranch has been home to several persons of notoriety as Murry and Leonie Guggenheim eventually donated to his house, which later became the library, Monmouth University.
