Preparing healthy meals for their children

It is always a challenge for parents to provide healthy meals for their children. As children grow and become more active, they need all the nutrients they can get. Because healthy foods are a popular choice among children, planning a nutritious meal is as important as preparation for something that really will want to eat.

Faced with the challenge

If you are working in an office or just at home most of the day, your responsibility as a parent, simply does not change. Fortunately, there are several recipes for healthy meals that you can easily follow. A clay pot and a collection of good recipes Crock Pot are all you need and you're good to go.

You may even be surprised at how much different types of meals you can prepare using your Crock Pot at home. You can prepare tasty meat stew, glazed chicken, roast pork, macaroni and cheese, and vegetable lasagna pureed. Since these are the foods that their children can also be found in your favorite restaurants stop, they will be more than happy to have them on your table dining at home.

Add onions, mushrooms, carrots, potatoes and other vegetables can improve not only the taste and aroma of the food but the nutritional value. An important feature of crack pots is their ability to retain nutrients in food.

Taunting meals

To encourage their children to eat what is served, you need to do a little more effort into the appearance of food. Try to be expensive using vegetables on your plate or serving of vegetables as ingredients of pizza. You can also top salads with cheese and chocolate.

Do not force children to eat the meals prepared. When you press them, only push them to refuse to eat more. They need to be encouraged, not forced to eat the right foods.

You may also want to involve their children in the process food preparation as develop best interests of their food. Fun in the preparation of food makes eating enjoyable part, too.

Make every meal a family event

The experts always say that a good example is the best way to teach children. This also applies taking with meals. Prove you're a healthy dining is the best way to train. Children always look to their parents as their role models. You will never be able to convince not eat what they eat.

In addition, make sure the family is complete during meals so that children can expect from every meal as a special family gathering. Place the TV while eating, because it can distract you and your children to share the ideal meal together.

Nobody said parenting is easy. Cook healthy meals and make sure their children eat may sound like a fight, but when you have the right strategies in place, their children not only eat what serve them, but may return to second and third.

Though I am dieting and the recipes are wonderful, this is a good cookbook for anyone! I love cookbooks, and Betty Crocker does not disappoint! Recipes use things you can easily get at your grocer, as opposed to dieter's cookbooks that send you everywhere for unusual, hard to find ingredients.


Great recipes. Small Portions

I really enjoy using this cookbook. There are so many possibilities and so far I have found them all to be very very tasty. The only complaint I have is that in some cases the portions are just too small, but what do you expect for 300 calories or less! This book is definitely a must have if you are trying to eat healthy!

I always hesitate when buying a new cookbook. But this is by far the Best ever! I have made a ton of stuff out of it and its all good (and easy too). Its really all dinner (and lunch too), which I like. I dont want desserts or breakfast, just dinner! Def would suggest to anyone keeping track of calories. You can make some good things that are low!

Great resource

I purchased this book when my son was 5 months old and we were just starting him on solids. We had a lot of success using it. At the time, I was not a great cook but could follow a recipe. I welcomed the advice on how long to steam a vegetable before pureeing and what fruits would taste good when mixed together. My son loved the recipes and has since become an excellent eater. Even our day care provider comments on what a good eater he is and how she believes it was because of all the great foods we made for him as a baby. You should consult your doctor on some things like the red berries, etc. but we lived on this book for the first few months after we introduced food and had no side effects from using butter or anything else. I even bought another Annabel karmel book, Superfoods, and still continue to refer to it to cook for my now almost 2 year old. I highly reccommend this to any new mom.


Delicious recipes for baby (and parents)

I've been making baby food from the recipes in this book since my son was 6 months old. So far, I've made about 15 of the recipes and all of them have turned out to be extremely tasty. I love how the recipes are divided into age groups.My son is now 10 1/2 months old and just becoming accustomed to solids with thicker textures that require chewing, so over the weekend I made the Pasta Risotto recipe. It was easy, fast, and amazingly delicious. I really couldn't believe how good it tasted (I'm going to make a bigger batch for myself this next weekend). My favorite, though, is the fried banana with orange juice and butter recipe. I would have never thought of something so simple but so GOOD.This book has taught me basic cooking skills and how to make amazing, diverse food for the baby. Highly recommended.

Prep is more than just microwaving

This is one of the more unusual and balanced meals in the Gerber Graduates line and will do well to introduce young children to more mature tastes. However the chicken pieces are very large and quite hard - if your child is not great on chewing you will have to cut them up into much smaller pieces. There were only 3 chunks in the last one we opened but I ended up with over 20 pieces of chicken by the time they were cut up small enough for my toddler to manage.

Great realistic play food!

I chose this for our 5 year-old daughter, and we couldn't be more pleased with the quality. Durable and so realistic! We also like the fact that this selection is "healthy" foods. I have already been served several sandwiches with milk and celery, and she has only had the set 2 days. Great value!


Lots of benefits...

My daughter has lots of play food, but this is by far the best. It gets her accustomed to associating fruits & vegetables with meals & snacks and making healthy food & drink choices more of a norm. I especially appreciate the wheat bread. Everyone pushes cheap, white bread on our kids, and I like that when she puts together a sandwich (made from really well made play food), she gets used to using wheat bread and adding nice green lettuce and bright tomatoes. We now have to have lettuce added to her Happy Meal burgers when we go to McDonalds, and I LOVE that! She also even has fun with the basket it all comes in when she plays grocery store (selecting fruits and vegetables, of course). Kids loose interest in their toys so quickly, but this is one she consistently plays with over and over again. I also highly recommend the breakfast and dinner sets, too. The quality in these toys far exceeds that of her other play food, making it really stand out from the rest. Two big thumbs up!
