Boy Scouts Kickoff Annual Popcorn Fundraiser

For most of us, it is well known that the girl scouts sell cookies every year to raise money for their many activities. What is not as well known is that the Boy Scouts and Cub Scouts of America also have an annual fundraiser by selling treats such as popcorn, almonds, trail mix, and yogurt covered pretzels. The people who purchase these goodies can enjoy delicious gourmet treats at home in a variety of flavors.

The pre-popped popcorn is currently available in Carmel, Cheese, and Chocolate flavors. Microwave popcorn is also available in Butter, Butter-Light, and Carmel Crunch. The scouts would like everyone to know that all the treats are made with Canola Oil, with 0g trans fat. Also, except for the trail mix, all of the snacks are certified Kosher.

This is the one time of year that all scouts participate in a similar fundraising activity. For many scout troops and packs, this is their only fundraising event for the year, making it extremely important that Americans support their efforts.

Profits from this event assist scouts from all across America participate in educational activities, overnight trips and camps, obtain badges and achievements, and to purchase much needed equipment and supplies. The Boy Scouts of America like to point out that over 70% of the revenue from these sales goes directly to local scouting, which helps defray the cost for many scouts to participate in scouting activities. This is such an important part of helping young boys become young men that we can all be proud of.

In addition to purchasing these snacks, consumers may also make a military donation, which will provide these tasty treats to our men & women fighting for our country. Scouts can offer two levels of military donations - $30 and $50 - to consumers across the country. This is another way for Americans to feel good about supporting their troops who sacrifice so much of themselves.

The Boy Scouts of America is one of the nation's largest and most prominent youth development organizations. The BSA provides a program for young people that builds character, develops personal fitness, instills American values, and trains them in the responsibilities of positive citizenship.

The scouts want to encourage all Americans to help them celebrate 2010, which is the 100th anniversary of the birth of scouting. In these hard economic times, many of today's youth are shut out of participating in the activities that scouting has to offer. This makes everyone's support is critical to continue the scouting adventure.

I need to lose 10 pounds in 2 weeks. Does this sound like a good plan?

I was thinking of having nothing but trail mix and lemonade/water. Maybe a slim fast or something once in a while. I love trail mix, it's one of my favorite snacks and it's fairly healthy too. And lemonade because it's low calorie most of the time and very refreshing on a hot day (over 90 degrees where i live). I know this sound extreme, but it's something I think I could stick to for a while.

So would this shed pounds? How much would you expect I could lose in a week? Do you have any tips or suggestions? Thanks.

Bad plan. This will slow your metabolism and make your body store up whatever you give it. When you return to normal eating, you will pack on the lbs. Do a well balanced diet, low in sugar and breads and do smaller portions. Eat 6 small meals a day and you will lose the weight without messing up your metabolism. Plus the weight will stay off.
