1 Granola Recipe
This Granola Recipe is a great substitute for commercial cereals - it is lower in fat and sugar and is easily made at home. It is also much more economical. You can ring the changes - substitute any of the dried fruits below with your own choice - goji berries, dried cranberries, dried mango or banana. You can chop the dried fruits in a food processor which speeds things up - process until they are just chopped and don't let them become a mush.
Ingredients:
2lb 2oz / 1kg rolled oats ¼ cup oil ½ cup honey, melted 1 cup hot water 1 teaspoon ground cinnamon 1 cup toasted almonds, chopped or whole 2 cups raisins (about 8oz / 250g) 2 cups chopped dried peaches 2 cups chopped dried figs 5 oz / 140g chopped dried apple rings
Method:
Heat the oven to 300° F / 160° C. Pour the oats into a large baking tray. Combine the hot water, oil, honey, vanilla and cinnamon. Pour over the oats. Make sure that the liquid is well stirred in. Bake for about an hour, stirring every 10 minutes. Make sure that the mixture doesn't burn. It is ready when the oats are no longer wet and are golden in color. Remove from the oven and add almonds and dried fruit. Stir very well. Allow to cool and then store in air tight containers.
2 Mango Lassi Recipe
Protein is important first thing in the morning, but you may not have the time or inclination to cook up eggs. Fruit Smoothie recipes are prepared in seconds and this Mango Lassi Recipe is both delicious and satisfying.
Ingredients: 2 ripe mangoes - about 12 oz / 350g 2 cups yogurt ½ cup milk 2 tablespoons sugar (optional)
Method:
Peel the mangoes. Cut the flesh off the pip. Place the mango, yogurt and milk in a blender. Sweeten the mango lassi with a little sugar if necessary. If your mangoes are very sweet you won't need to add sugar. This mixture is fairly thick, so you may want to add a little more milk. Pour into 2 - 3 glasses and serve.

It's loaded with refined sugar and has sulphur dioxide(artificial food preservative) which is not listed in the amazon product description. You can actually taste the sugar more than the mango itself.

Too bad these were Royal Phillippine dried mangoes. NOT THE SAME THING. The picture for this product is what I wanted to order. I received something different. The Royal dried mangoes i received were very similar but not as good and more importantly not what I ordered. After trying a few I noticed that they weren't as good so I checked me orders to make sure I purchased what I thought I purchased. The picture was what I ordered but under description they say "Royal Brand Naturally Delicious Dried Mangoes from the Philipines are without a doubt the best tasting..." So the picture they advertise is for Phillippine dried mangoes but under product description its a different brand called Royal. Mangoes are still good but not what I ordered. Disappointed with seller eauction for not clearly advertising product.

We have ordered this bag of dried mangoes repeatedly. Every time there were wonderful. Until the last one. Inside were spoiled, dark mangeo slices, nothing like the usual quality. Anyway, that happens once in a while with every food product. We returned them. Apple paid the shipping (as in product defective.) What I am waiting to see is how the seller deals with this return. This wasn't a shipping issue. The package arrived promptly and was sealed. Anyway, stay tuned. I'll revise the "stars" rating if "Internet Seller" follows up as it should.

Mediocre Mango by Mom of 2 from San Francisco, CA United States on 2010-08-12 I've been looking for dried organic mango that is as delicious as that carried by Whole Foods, which only sporadically carries it in their bulk foods area. This was not the mango I was searching for. It was toooo dry and didn't exactly taste like mango -- it almost tasted more like dried persimmon. It wasn't terrible -- that is, my family ate up the two pounds -- but not with the anticipated level of joy.

If I'm not careful, I can eat a pound per week (another sigh). Not TOO sweet, but very flavorful....perfect munchy food (watch your portion control). I've tried the dried pineapple (tasteless), the dried cherries (like bitter raisins), and the dried pears (not as sweet as my own dried pears). I LOVE that there is no added sugar! I can hardly wait for this great snack to be available again and my suggestion is to snip up a couple pieces into your morning oatmeal, cook and sprinkle with ginger, cinnamon and chopped almonds. I stir in organic yogurt or kefir as well. Yummy!August 28, 2010 - Just received order and please note that the pieces are small, mostly square as shown in the photo. Instead of the smaller bite-size pieces as pictured, described as soft and light in some reviews, I received the sliced version, which seems to be a little drier and chewier than I expected. Also did not have as much flavor as other brands I have purchased. They're not bad though, and it is an excellent price for the quantity, even better when purchased through Subscribe & Save.
What happened?! by Verdigris from East Coast on 2010-04-02 Used to love Bare Fruit mango when it was cut into little squares/rectangles and the fruit was chewy, tasty, slightly moist. Now their mango is sold in slices like in the bulk bins at groceries, really dry, and it tastes stale. So disappointed. Bring back the old mango!!!

This has to be the worst dried mango I've had, and it's not just cause there's no added sugar. I like that there's no added sugar, but these aren't tasty. I'm actually dreading finishing off this pack of 10. Definitely not worth the high price tag.

Most of the mango pieces are plump and naturally sweet, and they are the perfect item to throw in your bag/purse/whatever before you head out for several hours. Every once in a while I'll get a piece that tastes fermented (and more bitter than sweet), but that is not enough to deter me from considering it a great product. I just wish as another option they came packaged in larger quantities! I'm a big reuse/recycle nut, and individually packaged, non-reusable bags are not my fav.

The small snack size bags prevent you from eating too many. And there is nothing added. I will never understand why you would add sugar to something that's already sweet.

It tastes about the same sweetness as fresh but not ripe-ripe mango. If you like your mango peels with SOME moisture or if you like it slightly juicy, this is not for you. But the resealable carry pouches are definitely convenient and this product is very healthy with no additional added sugar.

I was holding my 6 months old (who has so far refused all forms of baby food and has only agreed to try the gerber puffies) and he grabbed one off the table and shoved it in his mouth. It melted in his mouth and he was hooked. He ended up eating 7 pieces before I cut him off for fear of giving him too much of something he's never had before. But they kept him very happy for a while.

He loved fresh mangos so I selected this flavor. Now he loves these so much, he seems to object to fresh mangos. Now the whole family loves them. We buy all the other flavors (except blueberries, tried them once -- they'd be okay for baking with, but not a great snack). I've tried 2 other brands of freeze dried foods and I'd say Crunchies brand is the best -- size of pieces, texture/look of pieces, flavor. Only improvement would be for it to come in a large cannister size too, and even the 1.5 ounce would be better if it was in a hard sided container like "Just ___________" brand (also okay, but more shrivled up, less like airy).Good Job Crunchies!

Dissappointed by Sophia G. from Brownsville, Texas United States on 2010-08-28 I have eaten Kopali Organic Mangos from grocery stores like Whole Foods before and they were excellent. The ones I received were horrible. I had different members of my family try them and they felt the same way. Then when I tried to return the remaining packages Amazon could not find my account and by the time it was straighten out it was too late to return them. I will not be purchasing food items from Amazon again.

They are simply mouth-watering! Albeit they are a bit on the expensive side.I became addicted from the very first bag, and once I introduced them to my mother and sister, they were hooked as well! Definitely try these if you like mangoes or dried fruit, or if you are trying to find a healthy alternative to snacking.

The only reason it didn't get 5 stars is that I once found a brand that came in whole sections instead of the small pieces. That brand was called "Go Mango" by Hunza. Website is [...]. But you have to buy like $50 worth at a minimum. They are cheaper that way. The other problem with these ones from Amazon is that I ate them in like a week. There isn't a lot with the way I go thru them. But I like the fact that the only ingredient is mango. Really, why do you need to mess with nature?

That is entirely my own fault for not paying closer attention to the weight ~ these bags are only 3 ounces each, hardly two servings worth of dried mango per package. Considering the price, they aren't the best value in dried fruit but nevertheless they are still yummy. The pieces are quite small and rather bite-sized. The fruit is very sweet, soft and moist ~ not hard and shoe-leathery like some other dried mango products. They have been organically grown (although it states nowhere on the package that they are unsulphured like other Made In Nature fruits) and they are a product of Mexico or Ecuador.So I give Made In Nature Organic Dried Mangoes, 3-Ounce Bags (Pack of 6) an overall 4 stars ~ 5 stars for quality, 3 stars for value.

If you are someone who wants to eat dried fruit as a healthy snack instead of candied dried fruit, you will like these. You will not like these if you are expecting the traditional dried mangoes you buy everywhere else that have sugar/corn syrup/sucrose/rice syrup/etc. listed as one of the top ingredients. These are a great snack with only 2 servings and 110 calories per serving per bag so you cant go too overboard. I have shared these with my coworkers, some of which dont like fresh mangoes let alone dried ones, and they loved these.

This one is by far my favorite so I feel compelled to write a review.The pro: TASTE! Tastes like a mango, maintaining a hint of moisture. Very seldom have I found any less than desirable bites (brown bites) which happens in other brands pretty often.The cons: Small amount in the bag (price...)Neutral: I agree with another poster that the bites are small.
