We all know now that we should eat at least five servings of fruits and vegetables every day. But knowing and doing are two different things, right? Sometimes it is simply not easy to get everyone there. We are constantly tempted to fill in the convenience and junk food. If your family is anything like mine, would rather fill a bag of potatoes chips or a bowl of rice or pasta instead of trying an apple or a bowl of steamed broccoli. So we have to be creative. Here are some ideas to "sneak" some extra vegetables and fruits in the diet of your family.
1. Start your day with a breakfast smoothie. All you have to do is throw some fruits, yogurt under fat and ice in blender. You may also want to add a tablespoon of powdered protein in which a good measure. It is just a few seconds and you have the perfect breakfast ready. I like to savor mine in a thermal cup on the way to work. To make it even more attractive to their children, use a bit of yogurt or a scoop of ice cream in the batter. You will not believe you're leaving an ice cream for breakfast.
2. Dried fruit makes an excellent snack any time of day. Add some small boxes of raisins to the lunch box of your child, the pack some yogurt-covered raisins in your husband's briefcase and keep some trail mix snacks sitting around. Also You can add dried fruit to oatmeal and cereal in the morning. My family loves banana chips in their breakfast cereal.
3. Add some fruit and vegetables to sandwiches of your family. You can add some banana, apple or strawberry slices cut a peanut butter sandwich. Upload your sandwich turkey with lettuce, tomato, cucumber and all that is going to eat. You can even make a sub shop style vegetable sandwich by combining several different vegetables with mayonnaise and cheese bread.
4. They have a salad bar at dinner. Established a variety of chopped vegetables, some cheese and croutons and a choice of dressing salad with lettuce and everyone to create their own perfect salad.
5. Let them drink their fruits and vegetables. Keep a variety of fruit juices and vegetables in the refrigerator and encourage everyone to drink as an aperitif. Be creative. You could start "the cocktail hour of the family" by pouring everybody a glass of your favorite juice over ice. Add some straw, cocktail umbrellas and sit together to talk about how everyone was the day.
6. Try this for dessert. Put a small spoonful of ice cream or frozen yogurt in a bowl and top with lots of fresh or frozen fruit.
7. Fruit and vegetable supply as a snack. You can cut the apples into slices and top with peanut butter or cheese. Cubes of cheese and serve with grapes. Cut some fresh vegetables and served with ranch dressing. And, of course, there are ants on a log. Spread some cream cheese or peanut butter inside a stalk of celery and sprinkle raisins on it (wow, fruits and vegetables in a snack).
8. Try some new fruits and vegetables. Pick something exotic to get the curiosity of his family. With a little luck, their curiosity beyond their first stop to try something new. You could try artichokes, plantains, papaya, mango, star fruit, or anything else you can find in the department Product of your local store.
9. Make a pot of vegetable soup or stew that is heavy in vegetables and easy on the meat. Both make some great comfort food when the weather is cold.
