Studies show that the average consumption of these among Americans has increased significantly since the introduction of the 5-A-Day for Better Health Program.

Five to nine servings of fruits and vegetables everyday diet can seem daunting. In fact, it is much easier than you think. Follow the simple tips below to learn how to:

Half a baked potato, four or ten broccoli carrots baby are other examples. Approximately the size that fits in the palm of your hand. Men may require about nine servings and women may need seven servings on average. Inactive individuals may need slightly less. Young children may need only three servings of vegetables and two servings of fruit.

Make it a point to include two different vegetables for lunch and dinner. A good example might be a dark green vegetable and other vegetables such as broccoli and yellow squash or sweet potato and spinach.

Add 100% juice for breakfast: Every day add 100% juice for breakfast. Buy two or three types of juices and drinks a different one every day. While it may be more easy to drink a juice prepared, try to prepare a fresh juice, at least on holidays and weekends. Add the juice of a smaller one with their sandwiches.

Add slices of fruit to breakfast cereal: cereal Instead of taking bearings, add slices of fresh fruit. Add the nuts on alternate days. Not only adds flavor but color and variety to breakfast bowl.

Add mashed vegetables to meat dishes: Add shredded vegetables or one cup of beans to favorite meat dish is not only a good way to stretch the meat into small mold for the whole family, but healthy.

While dining in a restaurant: Even if the menu includes plenty of meat, fries and chips, ask to replace some of them with sliced fruit or steamed vegetables. If your choice of fruits and vegetables are not available for the small part of other foods. As return home, in the end you dinner with a few slices of fruit or some raw vegetables Munch. Replacing soda with a bit of fresh juice.

Avoid eating the same day By Day: Serving the same day after day, the vegetables can cause both children and adults to refuse food. If you are cooking at home, try some recipes new. Be adventurous and vegetables mask does not like your child with other foods.

Involve children in shopping and cooking: Talk to your children about fruit and vegetable variety. Take them to shop and allow them to choose the vegetables. Include in the kitchen and are more likely to see children eating their own food cooked.

Make the right decisions in the selection of fruits and vegetables. Teach your children to follow their options!
