what kind of dried cherries do i need?

im making blondies for valentines day and want to put walnuts and dried cherries in them.

a) how are dried cherries packaged? ive never seen them before. is there a certain kind im supposed to use for baking?

and b) do i need to rehydrate them?

Dried Cherries are usually packed in clear plastic containers.
Some stores also sell them in the "Bulk" section.( Whole Foods for instance)
( that's where you scoop out your own and is where the loose nuts, raisin etc etc are).
2) you don't rehydrate them. That would be like rehydrating raisins for raisin cookies.
If you can't find them, use maraschino cherries but you must squeeze the juice out of them and dry them well with paper towels.
